With this job you need to fulfill two criteria:
1. You need to get the programming job done
2. You need to make the life of the current manager easier ;)
Basically this means that this role is still a hands-on role, where you will be working on the frontend up to 50%. There will be days where you focus on hacking code but also days where you are busy from morning till evening to negotiate with different stakeholders.
On the one hand, your technical expertise is still needed. You will make technical decision on codestack and best practices. For sure, you will also get your hands dirty writing some robust and clean code. You will need to give advice on technical concerns to the frontend developer team too.
On the other hand, you support the current manager the best you can. People’s management will be your focus. Also the collaboration with managers in the other departments world-wide stands on your to-do. Further you need to be able to find a common ground of communication with non-technical people such as business partners, product owners and managers.
